Barrandov is a historical district of Prague, located in the South-West of the city, named after the french paleontologist Joachim Barrand. Locals divide neighborhood into Old Barrandov and New Barrandov; in the Old part you can find Czech Hollywood - named after neighborhood film studio, producing movies, TV series, advertising and other video products. The New Barrandov is famous not for the presence of a large number of panel houses of the 80s, but for new actively built high-class residential projects. The infrastructure is well developed, there is everything you need for a comfortable life. For hot days in Barrandov there is a water and entertainment park with outdoor pool areas and a huge Aqua park. Low-rise eco-friendly area, which the locals called the "Garden city" because it is literally surrounded on all sides by green areas: the Prokopské valley to the North, state forest reserve Homolka - from the South and Barandovski cliffs to the East.
